A commemorative history of the trail depicting indigenous peoples; Spaniards, Buffalo Soldiers, present day persons and a variety of animals. All were cast in bronze. There is also a full sized wooden caratta. Commemorative statues representing the history of the famous “El Camino Real” trail from Mexico into what is now New Mexico from its early days to the present. There are also numerous cast bronze animals: A dog (referring to the old story of a stray dog leading a band of travelers to water along the trail; a lamb (referencing sheep moving up the trail; a hawk; a donkey with a load. I also made a life size “carrata” out of 100+ year old bridge timbers.
