Using Artistic License: Drawing & Mixed Media Course

Artistic License is the process of combining recognizable subject matter with random intuitive ( non-recognizable ) areas of shapes, colors, textures, and other expressive components. This uses both sides of the brain allowing for original creative results.

Intuition and the ability to think imagingatively came with your first breath and this is a great opprotunity to explore these infinite creative possiblities without concern of how accurately subject matter is represented. This course invites you to tap back into these precious hidden inner resources and expereince a deeper, more joyous creative life.

Course objectives: Create a playful atmosphere conducive to experimentation, exploration, surprise and inner connectedness using a variety of modalities such as “Context is everything.” Making the ordinary extraordinary, What if’ing, enigmatic juxta-positioning and more! Absolutely NO drawing skills required.

This class is not a emphasis on traditional accurate representation of space, objects, perspective, narrative or themes.

Each week we will explore a variety of how you can open the gates of creative expression by freeing yourselves from the limited beliefs of what “Art” is.
