Cast bronze, river rock and brick

5' X 26' X 10'

Location, Lynnwood WA
Budget:  $40,000
Concept:  Cast bronze arms break through the library wall, thrusitng a book into the outside world, symboliizing the power of reading and knowledge.  Water spills from the book as information into the river of one's life.  A river rock-lined stream bed containing  numerous cast bronze creatures (for kids to explore) carries the water through a series of ripples, eddies and pools, where it disappears into a bronze ear (conversation, listening, and communication coming from Book-knowledge).  A bronze beaver busily chews on a stick beside the metaphorical river.
